FAQs and quick answers
Whats the difference between prophylactic treatment and health screening?
A prophylactic healthcare service is to reduce or prevent a person's confirmed increased risk of developing a disease (eg family history of breast cancer, or carrying the BRCA gene), illness or condition in the future. Health screening is performed to detect the presence of an illness, disease or medical condition where there are no signs or symptoms suggesting the person has that illness, disease or medical condition.
Cover for prophylactic treatment and health screening is excluded except as specifically provided by the prophylactic treatment allowance, or the mammography and colonoscopy benefits. For more information on what is covered, check your policy document.
