FAQs and quick answers

Is my healthcare service covered?

You can check if a surgical procedure is included in your plan under My cover in My Southern Cross. You will need to obtain prior approval to confirm your cover.

You can also check some of your benefits and remaining balances in both the web and app versions of My Southern Cross. For full details of your cover including your policy benefits, terms and conditions, maximums, and any exclusions that apply, please visit My Cover/plan info and Benefits and balances.

Cover for treatment required in relation to (or as a consequence of) an accident or treatment injury is excluded under all Southern Cross policies (as this is covered by ACC). If ACC don't reimburse you in full, you may be able to claim some of the costs if the healthcare service is eligible for cover under your policy.

Most benefits have a maximum (limit), which will vary depending on the plan you’re on. Some limits will cover all the costs of a healthcare service, but for others you will need to contribute towards the cost of treatment if the limit is reached or if you are on a shared cover plan or if an excess applies.
